During the broadcast, Gary Muddyman, CEO and managing
director of Conversis will address the role localisation plays in
the
expansion of a company’s products into foreign markets. “The
seminar will explore the dilemma facing marketing managers in how
to tread that fine line between the competing needs for global brand
values versus the maximisation of income that is achieved by presenting
culturally attractive products in foreign markets.” said Muddyman.
In addition, Muddyman will address some examples
of how marketing communications managers have failed to properly
prepare their products for foreign markets and the resultant outcomes.
“We want the seminar to cover some of the practical steps
managers must take to avoid the pitfalls.”
According to Muddyman, modern communication methods
put greater demands on communicators for localised messages, which
go far beyond word-for-word translations. Therefore, the Web seminar
will further go to address how understanding a target country’s
cultural preferences, political and economic climate, and social
conditions is vital to making a company’s products attractive
for local buyers.
David Hood, Community Director for ‘The
Marketing Leaders’, a major professional marketing community,
welcomed the opportunity for Marketers to address the challenge.
“We Marketers have always talked about ‘thinking global
and acting local’ and Gary’s Webinar will go a long
way to ensure that we actually realize that this is more than a
slogan.” Hood maintains that “Localisation can only
lead to greater success and better customer centricity, ultimately
having a positive effect on profits.”
There is no charge for the 30-minute programme
and it will include a live, interactive presentation followed by
a question and answer session. The seminar will also be available
post presentation, for those interested in enjoying the presentation
again and inviting colleagues to review.
